Hello everyone I was wondering if you guys could help me with something regarding the Abit KT7E MoBo. You see I'm thinking of buying one and I wanted to make sure that the processor(CPU) that I'm buying seperate from it will go with it. Here's the the site for the Abit KT7E.

And Here's the site for the Processor
http://www.compubuzz.com/CPU/Tbird.htm

It's called this:
AMD THUNDERBIRD 1000 SOCKET A

thanks

KT7E is something between KT7 and KT7A, it doesn't have support for 133 MHz FSB (like KT7), but has 686B south bridge, which most important feature is ATA100 support (like KT7A). Yet, if you're into o/cing, you might force KT7E run @133 MHz FSB, but you going with 1 GHz processor, this one will work just fine with KT7E.
Another thing that makes KT7E a good choice, is that KT133E chipset being manufactured using better techprocess, making mobo more stable/faster.
I say go for it (or consider buying KT7A(RAID) http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif )
