Im looking at the CD-writer recently.I know that Yamaha 16x10x40 and HP 16x10x40 cd-writers are very good for me, but the price is the huge obstacle.I wanna to know that how is Imation 12x8x32 cd-writer?Is it ok in performance and stability. But at least it is in low price and within the range of my budget.

Imation 12x8x32 specifications:
*Seamless Link(something likes burn- proof and justlink tech)
*CLV(Constant Linear Velocity)
*4MB Buffers
*Can be over-burned

And sometimes it's just plain silly to pay more.

One of the best brands of CD writers is Plextor, and according to the information I've seen, Imation drives are just rebadged Plextor drives. So it would be the best of both worlds, high quality drive & cheap price.

Hopefully someone can confirm if in fact Imation drives are made by Plextor.

Did some research and came up with this:

IMATION
CD-R 8x20 SCSI Unit based on Plextor PX-R820
CD-R 12x8x32 Atapi Unit based on Acer CDW-1208A

So it seems the drive you're looking at is really an Acer drive. BTW I found that info here: http://www.geocities.com/pcp-freak/4cdfreaks/SafeDisc2.html
