With a million CDr's lying around I need an application that scans the contents of them and is storred on disk, so anytime I look for a file I won't have to go through all the CDs to find it.

Any ideas?

EDIT: oops, wrong forum!

I use sheridan disc catalog. Extremely nice, it scans inside zip files also. With 100s of cds lying around I've always found what I'm looking for =)

Hey, Otheos

You know, I saw a CD case that holds 500 CD's per case that connects to the serial port on your system. It comes with a Windows software where you can find the CD by the name you give it and it will find the CD and eject it out of the CDROM case automatically. The cool thing about this holder was that you can by additional cases that stack on top of eachother and daisey link for unlimited amount of CDROM storage. I just can't remember the company! I will post the link as soon as I find it. You might also want to call up a few computer stores and see if they might carry it in stock or can special order it for you. However, the price for each case that holds 500 CD's was something like $120 USD.

This sounds interesting (but I bet I won't find such a thing in the UK). I'll look around though

Still any software that does it?

Thanks again.
