When is was At one of my friends house (Monday Tuesday and Wednsday) I was setting up some computers for the dsl due to overwhelming Trouble with them.
each computer was a Nightmare.
Computer #1
COuld Not boot to windows PERIOD I saw the Windows 98 Logo but it went strait to dos. ran DIR command on C:\ drive. NOTHING. ran DIR command on D:\ Dirve NOTHING it said Invalid Media Type. so I took out One Hdd at a time and tried using only one hdd. same thing. stuck in the hdd's back in fired up the Computer. booted off the cd-rom and ran fdisk on both dirves. formatted both drives and finally installed windows. this took about 3 hours. I never dealt with the problem Before.

Everything was fine But the DSL. would never connect. would just sit at Logging on to network. we let it sit for 30 mins. never logged on. tried a bunch of stuff reinstalling DUN Uninstalling DUN all sorts of garbage. never fixed it till a complete "Restore" off the HP cd-rom. installed modem connected like a charm. then kept trying to boot too safe mode if modem was still connectec during Reboot or Startup.
told them to disconnect modem before Reboot or Shutdown.

Seemed to work fine but cd-rom was all messed up. tried another cd-rom same thing. tried new IDE port same thing. yet i was able to boot from cd-rom just fine. so i decided for a format and reinstall windows. worked fine after that but still a Mystery D:\ drive that causes computer to lock up when you click on it. never could fix that.
installed DSL modem everything ran fine.
Now he had a 4th PC that he said was Majorly fu**ed up but it ran like a charm so he used it to replace the one which would try to boot to safe mode if modem was connected (COmputer #2) as for Poor Computer #2 they decided to lemme tryout a Favorite game of mine online. Team Fortress Classic! my ping was around 50-100!!! when i blow up my Dispenser it was like INSTANTLY! BOOM! (voogru killed l33t-Mikel with Dispenser)
i got payed 50 dollars to fix em all ( i knew i could have got more but i didnt expect to even get payed) which i used to pay for my dsl http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
