I just got my new 9.1 gig ata66 Quantum KA drive to replace my 4.3 fireball st, and WOW what a difference. Everything seems twice as fast! Now, i'm only at ata33 on my BH6, and i'm just wondering if ata66 is all hype, or would I notice an improvement by going with a ata66 controller card+ the dual wire cables? I dont want to spend to 40 bucks if it's all hype...

I'm thinking about the "Promise" ata66 controller...

Hi,
I don't think that you will notice a difference if you were using the same HD on a UDMA66 controller.
If you want to see a real increase a performance, buy yourself a Promise FastTrack RAID controller and another Quantum KA HD (same model, same size). Configure them in a RAID0 array: it is faster than a single U2W HD.
That's what I am using for the moment: this is problably the best upgrade I have done for my PC !
