Lag? or else?

Whenever i play Diablo2 through TCP/IP. No matter i have connected to the network or not, D3D or DirectDraw. Every time it freeze! After the game started 3-4mins it freeze and even i can't move the mouse, after a minutes i it return normal again, and freeze after a few minutes later. Thats extremely annoying right?
I've tried to format my HD again, but no use, I've reinstall all the drivers again , but no use, I've tried all the suggestions given from www.blizzard.com, (http://www.blizzard.com,) but no use.
All the problems occure only when I play multiplayer. Now I even don't know whats the problem. I really need u guys' suggestions.
My computer info are as follows:
ATA 33 HD 6.4 G
AMD K6-2 500Mhz
PC100 320Mb Ram
44X CD-room
Asus TNT2 M64 w/16mb memory

I've had a problem similar to this.

First do you have the latest Diablo2 patch? (Haven't played but i still believe the latest patch is v1.09)
If you have the latest patch, uninstall the game then reinstall the game..
Maybe you've already tried that, then e-mail Blizzard Tech Support, and they should be able to help you out..
