The first thing to confirm is exactly which processor you have. There are actually two P4 sockets (423 and 478) and the 2GHz speed just happens to be exactly where they overlap. Assuming that you have a socket 478, then I would recommend an 845PE chipset board (ASUS P4PE would be a good choice) and PC2700 DDR.

You could try some system info software like Sandra, AIDA etc. Or if you can visually determine your current mobo model, it should be possible to determine whether it's socket 423 or 478. If it's socket 478 then, as I suggested, the P4PE would be a good choice. If it's socket 423 then I would recommend selling it, because it still goes for a very good price (because it's the max that people with a socket 423 can upgrade to). You should be pretty well able to buy a Northwood around the same speed with the proceeds and then go ahead and get your new socket 478 board (e.g. P4PE). If you have a socket 423 and insistent on keeping it, about the only good upgrade you could make would be something like a P4T and RDRAM, but I would not recommend that.

Black Pearl is a fancy 'collectors' edition. Personally, I don't have much use for that sort of thing. Once the mobo is installed and the case is closed I hope never to actually 'see' the mobo again anyway. But if you're into that sort of thing I can see how it might be pretty cool. Depends on the price difference too. If the BP edition isn't too much more expensive, it might be worth getting. If you're looking to save a few $'s, stick to the basic model.
