I've got a pc because I can build it for $1000 less than a mac, plus I don't need a mac as I don't to music or video editing, etc. The one guy I know who works on web design and 3d graphics and stuff said using the dual g4's in his class at school was a completely awesome experience - in power and speed. For me, its a pc, for others - it may very well be a mac and that's fine with me as long as mac people don't try and sell me one because it is SO much better than a pc. I am used to using windows, so why would I switch. Eventually, maybe something will be out there that is worth using on a pc that looks good and works good. Until then, I'll continue with M$ and my custom built by me for me pc.

Hmmm...The name of this place is Sysopt.
The reason I own a pc and not a Mac is because of the fact that I can optimize it to do just about what ever I'm into at this point and time. If I get into games, I would get the latest and greatest graphic card...want to make a server out of it...throw in a scsi card and set it up for a raid setup..want to have an awesome machine to crack RC-5...throw a AMD t-bird into it and o/c it to 1500 mhz(hehe..i've done this http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
I think you get my point. I did go into a local shop here that does sell Macs looking for a wacom tablet for my pc..they almost had to call an ambulance when I seen the prices on them. So I think I'll put up with windows and my pc.

p.s. I hope this doesn't upset anyone cause this is just MHO.

Mine is mixbread IBM. My Mom's(feeling pity for the woman) is a Mac. The CD burner does not work after just one week. Seems to be a common problem. Will anyone have pity on my poor mother and give me some advice(other than sell or trash it) on how to fix this problem.

PC's all the way.. I have never owned a PC in my life.. I have worked on a few.. but not by choice :P
Most people say macs better for graphics yadda yadda.. I do not do professional graphics.. just small things now and then.. and PC is fine for me..

Is this a poll or a discussion of macs and pcs?
If it is a poll, I say: PC FOR LIFE
If it is a discussion, I say: look up some other threads http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
I think most people that have been here awhile know my opinion on macs.

I think the competition between Mac and Pc is great. If it weren't for apple we would be typing c:/ to start anything and if it weren't for pc we would still be paying 4k for a do nothing box. Macs are the best for photoshop and some other graphic applications for which they are optimised......but almost no popular software runs on them. Notice that there is Windows for Mac and not the other way around.
