strange background lines, video card\pixels\color?

when i have my backgound solid black, no picture, there are wavy lines that show up on the background and in some programs, in the same spot.


but! i just noticed horizontal lines, about 12 of them about 2mm apart, on my black background only, when i have my screen a little brither then normal... whats wrong, any ideas?

o and the weirdest part? they are not always there...... i think it might be my video card but it could be alot of things, or could it just be one thing, can anyone tell me?

Well an easy way to get anomolies on screens is do jiggle the monitor port plug a little. I remember not putting it in properly once and my entire screen was black and bright blue, I jiggled the cord and it was normal. What kind of card/monitor do you have? Maybe you've got an overheating Vid-card, that can cause anomolies also.

this is the first type or this problem i have, i have a cheap moniter, it doesnt say the brand anywhere, and i have a rage 2c video card

hmm.. today the lines started showing up on different colors not just black , now they are on almost all of the dark colors
