Is it true bout using v 5 drivers with the v 3.My sis plays The Sims on this machine and the v 3 is just choking trying to render the 2d + 3d graphics if I'm right.Maybe Voodoo 5 drivers will cure it..poor lill sis.

how much ram you have on that puter of hers?? you have the latest drives right? i heard you can put v5 drivers but alot of people claim it don't work. trying getting wickedgl for your voodoo and see if that helps

Try showing her what it plays like on 800X600 and maybe she'll change her mind.

What are the rest of the specs on the PC?

The v3/4/5 all share a similar driver architecture. You can use the v5 drivers with your v3 card with no real issues to note. However, I just recommend installing the last x-3dfx v3 beta drivers, as they use the same files as the v5 release.

I have 192 megs of pc 100 in this MS 6195 mobo. I'm surprised that v 3 chokes when with The Sims http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif.. Thanks guys..

Do you run it 800X600 ?
My son runs it on a pII350 Vodoo3 with the drivers from the disc.

OH I havent done so myself, but I have also heard of using the V5 drivers on the V3

She runs the game at 1024*768, she is 5 years old and I can't argue with a 5 year old girl.Advised her to run it at 800 res but you knowww...
