Got one person living down under and another living up over.
Whats the best prog available to enable both people to talk?
Used media ring before but Im thinkin by now that there must be other good/better ones available.

Netmeeting for one. There are tons of other audio/video progrmas.

Try downloading Paltalk, you can just use it as an IM, that's if you're not someone who enjoys their...ummmmm....interesting rooms.
The IM gives you the ability to use cam's and make voice calls, and in my experience, the voice quality has always been excellent.
The only drawback is the pop up adverts, but a program like no ad's took care of that for me.
I use the program to speak to my husband when he's in Germany on business every 6 weeks, it saves a lot on long distance charges.
