I just got a PlexWriter 12/10/32a. When it's writing to a CD-R, it wirtes at 12x like it's supposed to. When it's writing to a CD-RW It will only go as high as 4X. Any Ideas why?

Specs: PII 600, 256ram, 10gig hdd, Win 98.

Are you using 10X rated media? You can get away with less than 12X for CDR, but it's pretty picky about CDRW.

Try using another brand of media and make sure it is rated 4x-10x.

AH... I SEE...

I'm using FUJIFILM and on the cover I see 1x 2x 4x multispeed. Is that the rating that you are reffering to?

Thanks for the responses.

Yep Zenyo, that would be it. Try a different media rated for the speed writer you have. Like someone said above CD-RW are abit pickier http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Good Luck
