I don't believe that any sort of program can do this... however... I do know that you can purchase devices that can do this. You just plug the device in, set the time, and there you go. We use them in my laboratory to turn on and off heaters for samples. i don't have any idea how much they are, or where you can get them though

good luck

Hmm. Let's see. A program that turns on a "completely turned off" computer. I guess you'd need a second computer to run the program.

That could take the form of a timer/switch to turn on the mains to the PSU and also to a time delay relay that would provide a momentary closure like the one that tells a motherboard to turn on an ATX supply. That much would be easy.

Now you need something that would wait until the system finished booting and then press a function key on your keyboard that's programed to run a dialer utility. That would be a little more complex, but not impossible.

In all, that's the program you're looking for.

EDIT ~ Let me add that I'll build what you need for about $250. Maybe someone else can do it for a little less.

Check to see if your BIOS supports the Auto-on feature, Asus boards do, not sure about others. That way it will turn on for you.
To dial-up, just put your connection in the task scheduler, then get "Push the Freakin' Button" to click on the right buttons for you. The program is available from my homepage in the utilities section. http://members.cnx.net/reboot/

I know I can program my Abit KT7-RAID to turn itself on with the bios, the settings for this are under power management.

I've been forced to switch servers, and the modem site is in shambles while I find storage for the drivers. If you access my site from http://members.cnx.net/reboot/ you'll find two modems sites, and the drivers will work on one or the other most times.
If anyone knows of a good free host, that will accept .exe and .zip files, with NO upload cap (usually 1 meg or less on the junk ones) with full FTP access, please let me know. Uptime and speed are seriously important.
