!!!!HELP!!! can't access email

Whenever I try to access my email, I get the error msg netscape has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. Under details - netscape caused an invalid page fault in module netscape.exe at 015f:0050e118 Can anyone please give some solution. It will be greatly appreciated. I downloaded netscape again and I still get the same error msg. THANKS in advance. LadyJ

I'm having troubles finding any good info at the NN support page. Are you using Netscape 4.x or 6.x? when you downloaded netscape did you get rid of the old files before installing the new ones? Apperantly netscape has problems with detecting the wrong files from older versions, so I would suggest backing up (exporting) all your emails and address' then completely removing Netscape from your puter before installing it again.

I would have to agree with Zenyo, but add one thing reboot after the install just to mke sure that windows gets rid of ll netscape files.

There is a folder in C:\program files\netscape\users\"your name"
This folder contains all of your mail, bookmarks, addresses etc. Just save it and when you get netscape re-installed copy the folder back.

Here is the additional info you requested, which is probably the problem - I have a program that I downloaded for startup and shutdown screens. In the mean time I installed a new hd. I copied the old drive to the new one, then I did a backup from the new drive to the old drive, then reformatted the new drive because I had partioned it and realized that I had created a problem with drive letters by using partitions, well the startup and shutdown screens had logos that displayed when the screens came up. When I went to the download site there was a new version, but I didn't like the new version so I dropped the old logo.sys into the first application. In doing this my computer wouldn't boot from the c drive. I kept getting the message that there was a invalid disk in use and to remove it and press any key. This didn't work, I removed all alien disks and still got the msg. I used the emergency disk to boot and searched the help file in dos. The dos help said I should Sys the c drive, which I did and then I was able to boot from c. Well after doing this, the first problem I had was I was unable to access netscape, got that taken care but I still cannot access email. I hope this wasn't too long, but that's what happened. I am new at this so I'm kind of reluctant about doing some things, so if anyone can PLEASE help make it in simple english. Thanks again for any!!! help. ladyJ { http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
P.S. How do I backup just the email and bookmarks?
2nd P.S. How do you work with dll files. My error msg states there is an error in module egnsengine.dll. I have called my provider, which is a lan connection, he suggested that I call netscape because that's where the problem lies. Netscape wants to charge $29.00 to help even tho the problem is theirs.
