I've kinda been fiddlin' around with putting the logo of the shop I work at on the properties window of the comps we build. The trouble I'm having is getting the background to end up transparent. I've tried with CorelDRAW! 5 (an oldie but goodie), PSP, (whatever the newest version is), & good (?)ole' Paint. I know the RGB values (for the background) are all 255, but they're still not transparent... anyone who has any experience with this stuff, I'd love to hear about it...

thanks!

PSP is probably the easiest.
Open your graphic, then click Colors, Set Palette Transparency. The pic will go through a couple of transformations, and then you can use the eyedropper to select what color you want transparent (the background), then save it as a .gif

Where Do you put the OEMLOGO and OEMINFO
what is the filename for the OEMINFO? *ini? *.inf?

Usally whenever i fix a computer i put my name and number in the OEMINFO and in the logo i put "hacked by voogru"

I once did this in best buy http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

thanks.

jray, this image should answer your question. According to my old pic here, the RGB values should actually be 190,190,190. It's from this old thread (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum17/HTML/000252.html) that I somehow remembered...

Comtech, the image must be a .BMP for the OEM logo thing to work, and bitmaps don't have a transparency layer like .GIFs, so this is the only way I know to do this.

Mine is in the windows/system folder.
Oemlogo.bmp Oeminfo.ini

I used paint and under the image menu uncheck "draw opaque" and whatever you dont draw is clear.
