This is my setup...

Soyo 5ema Pro
AMD K6-2 500 not oc
128 MB Ram
30 GB HDD
Geforce 2mx 400
Philips E.A.
Win98 SE

I can't get this card stable. Latest via 4-in-1's latest nvidia drivers did everything so I'm to the conclusion this card won't work on my board. The motherboard is agp 1.0 compliant I was a dumbass and didn't notice the video card requires a 2.0 slot. Please Help!! Is there a way to get this to work or should I take it back. And if I were to take it bake what card would work?? I'm in a really bad rush here, today is my only day off for awhile and I won't be able to take the card back soon.

thanx

I had an ATI All In Wonder in my Socket 7 board and never had a problem with it at all.

Hello there, moparboy. I think you're left with only a few choices, mainly those early AGP cards that came out from S3? The Savage 2000? Although it's a sucky card, I think it might work with your AGP slot.

Definitely not those AGP cards from Nvidia recently, but the older ones like the TNT2 and below should work on your AGP slow also.

TNT2 should work perfect with a Socket7/AGP and up to date drivers.

I had problems with any AGP card that had more than 16megs RAM on my VA-503+. MVP3 chipset couldn't handle it. Recommend a V3 (which are dirt cheap now, but have mature drivers) for older socket7 setups.

I have 5EHM mobo and I use without any problems ATI Xpert2000 Pro 32 AGP.
Stable as a rock

Hey guys,

Thanks for the advice...

I think I'm gonna try to track down an Ati Rage Fury. I'm using an Ati xpert128 now and I'm pretty happy with the company. So since a Geforce2 is not an option, I think the 32mb with tv out will suffice.

Thanks Again!!!

P.S. I'll Let ya know how it goes! =)

My vote is for one of the Voodoos, either a 3, 4 or 5. Because they don't use some of the advanced agp features, they tend to have fewer problems with agp compatibility.

Well Here's a little update...

I was all over the place yesterday. Couldn't find that old Ati card anywhere (found out later on the website it's been discontinued). I was thinking to my self that my ss7 and K6-2 were only temporary (just put it together for a quick fix from my P100). I was really wishing I could by a card that would keep up with my next build, but would also work in this box.
Well I held my breath at the thought of dealing with more incompatabiltiy and got an Ati Radeon VE 32mb DDR. IT WORKS GREAT!!!

Thanks again!!
