French platform CanalSatellite, part of the Canal+ group, has added
Qatar-based news channel Al Jazeera to its channel line-up. The channel,
famed for broadcasting messages from Osama Bin Laden, went to air in France
last week on CanalSatellite, as part of the digital service transmitted via
the Astra platform. Composed of a rolling news service punctuated by
documentaries and talk shows, the 24-hour service is free to CanalSatellite
subscribers. In France, Al Jazeera can also be found in TPS's digital line-up.

before this topic goes too far down the road, I feel i should point out that British SKY Broadcasting has offered Al-Jazeera for donkeys (years)! it's one of the many pay-per-view channels that nobody ever bothers with (unless of course you happen to speak arabic). scan thru the channels and you'll see it. Their are lots of other foreign language channels too!

that Murdoch bloke's too cheaply bought.
