One of our employees has a Excell 5.0 wookbook that is password protected. Of course they claim they "never put a password on that thing" but it's there. Does anyone know a "backdoor" password or do I get the plesure of telling them they are out of luck..LOL
Thanks

Thanks, but that only gives the file open password and not a protection passowrd. The full version will give me the protection password but it's just not worth the money for a one time thing.. Thanks again for the idea!!
Well, if it's just a worksheet password, you can highlight the entire spredsheet, by clicking the top left button on the sheet, (between column A and Row 1), select "Edit", "Copy", and click on an empty sheet number tab, (at bottom of spredsheet), select cell A1, and then "Paste". It will put everything there, and won't be protected, so you can edit everything.
Hope that helps you.

It was so simple it's a bit scarry. I saved the workbook to lotus format and them right back to Excel format.. No more workbook protection. There were no formulas in the workbook so I was not worried about them, and I'm not really sure what if anything would have happedned to them..
