Does anyone know a place where they may have a list of computer companies needing beta testers? I've always wanted to be one, and would like to pursue this dream.

ALL companies that produce software beta test it before releasing it to the general public. Yes I know many people will say microsoft doesn't..........Just go to the web sites of your favorite makers and ask them.
If you want to have real fun, try alpha testing. You get things like 200 pages of instructions. example: field xx is a date field. Does it allow alpha characters? field xxx should only allow 187 characters. You get to do 1234567890.......186,187 Yep it works.
Also keep in mind that you should never install beta software on your main computer.
