Hello, i was just wandering if it would be a good thing to enable RIP(Routing Information Protocol) on my config for my siemens speedstream router? I don't quite understand the drawbacks or benefits of it even though i read this article
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/cisintwk/ito_doc/rip.htm
Anyone know anything more about it that might be able to explain to me better than that?
Oh yeah..duh..i have only 2 pc's hooked up to the router which runs off a cable modem..and the reasoning behind this is lately my ping in multiplayer games has gone up substantially from about 20-30ms to 70-100ms on the same server and supposedly my cable company has increased my bandwidth up to 3mbps downstream and 800kbps upstream...so
original config= 1 pc direct to cable modem @ 20-30ms ping
new config= 2 pc's thru router which is hooked to cable modem @70-100ms ping even with the bandwidth upgrade...i got screwed huh?
