WinME has built in video editor, then there are commercial ones like Adobe Premiere... Check http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/encoding.html#cutjoin for joining tools. Peck has one as far as I remember.

well, i did some research on my own, and I found out how to combing mpgs in dos, so then I went to do it, and found out that my movies are .avi movies. now I can't seem to find a dos command that works the same way for avis (i'm assuming it's because of how avis work), but can someone please still help me out here?
thanks

This won't help much because I don't know much (hehe http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif, but I know Ulead makes a video editor and so does Adobe. I dunno if you can combine avi format (would think so) but you can with mpeg.

if those .avi's are divx (mpeg-4), you would need to use a program that will uncompress them, join them, and recompress them. divx have an index at the end, so you can't join them like mpegs. You can however, get a program call divfix that can strip and rebuild the indexes. if you get one of those file split/join programs (that cut files into smaller pieces to fit on floppy or cd) you can strip the index, join them, and rebuild the index. theoretically, of course. And you would have to get a file splitter that doesn't create its own rebuilding index, or one that stores it on a different file. hope that helps.
