well I finally began studying for the A+ certification.

Being in the Aviation Industry (flight instructor) and considering the latest trends of airlines, I`ve come to the conclusion that I need some backup for my future.

Also studying for a college degree...jsut in case.

I`ve dedicated a big part of my life to aviation and well...it seems that it`s better to hold on for 3-4 years until the situation clears up.

Wish me luck for my A+.

Suggestions are appreciated!

good luck:t

doing same myself, been cooking for most of life and its a good occupation to fall back on but just dont enjoy it like i used to

where i live there is really no computer repair places and i have been doing it on side when have time available. am studying for A+ myself to make me look more credible. using books and online stuff. just being on sysopt and reading lots of problems and possible solutions is great learning. read my book for a little while afterwards and it seems to make it stick a little better

Just keep in mind that the only industry worse than the Aviation Industry is IT.

well that is not very comforting! Why you say that..I mean is there something in particular that makes IT worse than aviation in this particular period of life?

My brother is an Aviation Technician. He can take a jet apart and put it back together again. Not a bad job, he loves it and the cash he makes.

bshplt, I meant worse as in very hard to find employment. MANY jods have gone to India. There are tons of people with IT degrees, tons of certs and years of experience that can't findwork. It's not expected to get better for several years to come..

Then theres the fact that entry level make very low wages..

Steve thanks for the info.
I`m not into the Computer industry hence I don`t really know how is it: I`m just a home user who has a lot of passion for this :) I`m doing my degree also... so I`ll certainly consider what you told me.

I guess these are not good times.....
