If you want to play all of the newest games when they first come out, then no.

If you want to wait anywhere from a few weeks to a few months for a game to be released for the Mac, then yes:)

I am now more confused than ever why Apple doesn't convert OS X into a PC version to compete head-to-head with Windows. It could make a killing if it undercut Microsoft.

Yes I agree I would love a x86 version of OSX on my puter, however the cost to port over all the MAC software to an x86 platform from the Motorola 64 bit RISC platform would be too costly, this is why there will never be a x86 version of OS X.
