I know that this is a basic question, but i don't want to take the time to figure it out on my own right now. I'm moving from 98se to 2kpro and I want to keep all of my bookmarks. what is the best way to do this?
thanks

If your using Internet Explorer 5.5. On the "FILE" menu, you can select "IMPORT AND EXPLORT" and export your bookmarks to a disk. I would then assume that Win2K's import feature supports files exported from Win98.

Start Menu- Run- C:\WINDOWS\Favorites

When it opens copy and paste.

Or do like I do and go to windows-
Start Menu- Run- C:\WINDOWS\
look for favorites folder,
then right click and send shortcut to desktop. You can always click on it to organize it.. create sub folders, drag and drop etc.

I use Netscape and there is a file bookmark.htm in C:\program files\netscape\users\your name
If I need to replace Windows or format the C drive etc. I always save this file and then just put it back where it was previously. IE may have a similar file.

W2k saves bookmarks (this is favorites, right?) in %sysdrive%:\documents and settings\%username%\favorites.
And they can be copied directly.

But make sure all your favourites have been backed up, i once tried backing up by copying the favourites folder only to find out later that not all the links had been copied (but that only happened once).
