I know that Dell makes it impossible to install their software on other computer by directly linking the software to their BIOS but i was wondering if Gateway did the same thing...

I remember gateway would give you oem copies of the software in seperate cd's.......... I miss those days :( now it's a crappy restore cd.

All of the brand-name PC manufacturer's are OEM distributors of software, and usually have to make it as difficult as possible to install on another computer as part of their cut-price deals with the software suppliers.
