purchased a new western digital 40 gig hd. have a 6 gig with 1,2 left on it. i was reading the new hd manual,and it stated that some of the bios` before 1999 wont recognize any hd over 32 gig. is there any way i can test bios or a web page i can use to tell if bios will work with new hd before installing it?? win 98se-pII400, award bios v4.51pg thanks to all responders brad

put the drive into the system as a slave. if your bios is set to auto, then see if it will be dected,
if dected, then boot to dos with the win98 startup disk. and fdisk and see what is the size of the partition.
