I've been playing GTA3 at afriends for a couple of days. It is an awesome game. I am wanting to buy it. I've heard that it would be way better to buy ViceCity though. Is ViceCity so much better and worth the extra cost? :p

Well if were talkign about for the PC, Vice city aitn even availiabel for it, you'll need a PS2 for that

Vice City either way. If you want the PC version, you'll have to wait until May though.

Actually if you read the reviews on it. The say it is intended for pc from the start (not just ps2) so this time the FPS will be better and more stable across dif. systems. Good to hear. We'll see if its true. I hope so.:)

Most of the problems were with DX rather than the game itself. Proof being that updating to DX8.2 solved most ppls woes with the games slowdowns

I have a strange problem with the game. In WinXP i cannot see the words on the menu so no playing possible here and in WinME the saved games r not loaded back. What can be the problem. I have GF2MX400 64MB DDR, AthlonXP 2000+.

Have you updated DX to version 9 yet and installed the GTA3 patch?

Not yet. Does DX 9 requied 4 GTA? I don't think so. OK so another 31MB download from net on a dial-up. I have v41.31 4 my GF4MX 400 is it compatible with DX 9???

There were a lot of issues with GTa 3 that were ironed out in the directplay 8.2/direct X 9 updates, yes. And yes it will support that gfx card.

Vice City beats GTA3 in virtually every way imo.. but yeah like it was said above we'll have to wait for a PC release.

DX9 isn't required to play GTA3. But the patch is.

Do a search here, you'll find a couple of topics dealing with this.

I had the same problem with XP and GTA3, no text, but I installed the GTA3 patch and it fixed everything. Cool game but very frustrating. My wife had to remind me it was "only a game"!!!!:x

I have Vice City for the PS2, and man it rocks!
