5- 160 U IBM SCSI 36 gig Raid 5 H/D 1 Hot spare
(the 160 U card raid controller has 128 mb of memory on it)

5U Rack mount
Dual Redundant PCI ethernet cards 10/100
and FANS a plenty!

hi desmocat. could u put a price tag on your new system? i put together an amd duron 800 on a asus a7v 133. this was my first system. now i want a anthlon 1gig. i also like what your new toy. would this be to hard for me to put together?

As it is, it was about 1525 for all the stuff listed, plus a case and floppy. It might could be gotten a little cheaper, crucial dropped the prices on the ram after I bought mine(naturally http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif ) and I bought the drives at frys, (got antsy and couldnt wait). This is my first adventure with a RAID setup,so it will be a learning thing for me too.
I am sure you could probably do it also, 'cause when you run into problems, there is always someone here to help ya thru what's stumping you.
