Its usually done in the BIOS and most newer cards support it.

Yeah. Check this out: My vid card supports fastwrites, my bios has fastwrites enable/disable feature, my motherboard does NOT support fastwrites... that's just shizz :rolleyes:

If you can not find it in the Bios then most likely your board does not support it.:(

Never heard of it being anywhere else though.

I can't speak for other cards, but for the ATI Radeon series, the fast write enable is located in the ATI Control Panel under the SmartGart tab. Caution: there are definite known issues with the fast write being enabled and the Catalyst 3.1 drivers. I saw a news report today about Catalyst 3.2 being released, but I can't find them anywhere yet. Hope this helps...
