i've been looking into building a t-bird system but when i've been looking at cases i sometimes see them with powersupplys that are "AMD recomended." does this mean that i would need to buy a new ps? i really don't want seeing as that i have a pretty much unused and almost new 400 watt sitting in my closet from my last case (i'm now using a dual 300 watt ^^) i just wanted to know so i don't spend anymore money then i have to

those ps are fine you don't need a new ps you have got it more than covered.

Basically all you need is at least a 300w power supply to run an amd setup.

You raise a very good point about "AMD Certified" power supplies. I've seen 250W PSU AMD certified so go figure. I thought one needed minimum 300W... For my T-Bird I went out of my way to make certain the box I bought had a AMD certified PSU. jaida is probably right. But if your system has power difficulties, at least you'll know where to look first.
