Hi,
I like to play empire earth online.
Sometimes when I am in the heat of battle the game shuts down.
Completely, no lock up, just poof, back to my desk top.
I immediately check my cpu temp, which is always between 100 and 105F when this happens. So I know it is not that.
I have 512 megs of DDR2100, I believe that is more than enough.
I have an Athlon 2100+.
My video card is a Triplex Xabre pro 8x AGP with 128 megs.
It has never happened before on any other machine.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any Ideas as to what it might be?

I was thinking.............could it be my desktop settings?
I have them on 32true color 1024x768. Would that effect the game? would the game not have a setting of its own? If so I have not seen it or altered it.

you don't say what os you are running but i had a similar issue with aquanox in winxp and it was resolved in an update.

I have this problem in Diablo 2. Updating drivers and directx has fixed the issues.

Zurke, not to say that your system SUCK, 'cuz it's a good system
but it seems like that your PC is not able to handle the game too well in those hard times
which basically means you don't have enough RAM
or at least a LARGE enough SWAP file
optionally you can just Absolutely turn OFF everything in the background by Turning off Services and End Task Program via the Task Manager

I have a GA-7VAXP Ultra. I think the Mobo manager that I had going in the system tray may have been playing havic. I disabled it and it seems good so far.
My drivers were up to date.
I think your game got problems.

I remember I got massive slow down at 256MB but now I have over a 1gig now.
So I will retest it.

I seriously doubt that.
Empire Earth is a relatively old game and I am willing to bet that 512 megs are way more then enough for it. I run it just fine with 256 almost a year ago.
Actually I don't think any game today needs more then 512. I have a secondary screen connected to my 9700, and I like to have the task manager open on it when I run stuff. Unreal2 for example uses around 256 megs (I have 512 DDR). And If friggin U2 uses only 256, I doubt any other game out there reaches 512. Specially one more then a year old...
But don't worry... as always, one day that won't be enough eighter...

Well the game has been running fine passed couple of days.
I do think it was backround program mamagers.
