i have the 75gxp 60gb. There are some things u can check.
first of all make sure ur hard disk is not running in "Silent-mode". To check this ... there is a utility avalable from ibm's site.
Second, make sure ur bios settings for ide are set to auto (transfer mode, recognition, and everything)
third, make sure u dont have an older, slower drive hooked up to the same ide chain as the hard drive
and finally ... make sure u have enabled DMA for the drive in windows
ohhh. also defrag it occasionally

Well I read that link really did nothing for me butthanks anyways.I really would like to get this fixed guys please help
Assuming every setting in BIOS are fine, have you tried Defrag ? I'm using same HD, same mobo, 1 GHz T-Bird, and I almost ran out of space on it (3GB left), and it indeed slowed down, defragged it - no problems now, fast as at the day I got it http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
