Diablo 2 and Stamina Potions

I'm playing as a necromancer, and when I drink a stamina potion, my run/walk bar still gets used up. I'm OK though if I find a "Stamina Shrine" on the map. Then my run/walk bar turns blue, and I can run until the spell wears off.

Anybody know why the Stamina potions won't work? Maybe I'm using them wrong...

BTW - I have a pretty recent patch from a couple of months ago.

Yes the Stamina Potions are NOT SPELLs

the Stamina POTIONs, like every other Potions, is only used to RESTORE the bar to the "max"

but if your Char is too "good" you'll need 2 or more Stamina Potions, to restore the bar to full
