I need to uninstall Windows XP from my hard drive. According to Windows Support, all I need to do is go to Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs, then click on Windows XP and click uninstall. But Windows XP is not listed in the Add/ Remove programs list. Can anyone help me??
Thanks, Andiesean

Over which OS did you install WinXP?
You want to unistall it and go back to your previous OS?

I didn't install XP over any previous OS, I installed full version on new hard drive. I want to clear my hard drive. The XP I installed is an OEM version. I just read somewhere that OEM's cannot be uninstalled and then re-installed. Is this true??

You got BSed dude, most likely they thought you said MS OFFICE XP :p, instead of WinXP :D
just go ahead FDISK / FORMAT

just go ahead FDISK / FORMAT
Make sure you backup any vital data to another HDD or CDR's before you do so, as the above wipes everything offa the disc

i had a bugger of a time the last time i uninstalled XPpoo
it kept saying "this drive is in use you cannot format it"
i ended up having to dismount the drive!!
and i dont realy know how i did it!!
hopefully you wont need to do that but if you do someone here will tell you how!:t :t
You can only remove Windows XP via "Add Remove Programs" if an upgrade installation was done...and you haven't converted to NTFS. Otherwise you'll have to remove it in the normal fashion.

Windows 2000 - how to remove it in order to restore Windows 95 or 98
The method will probably work for removing Windows XP.

He didn't upgrade to XP, he did a fresh install.
If you just want to keep what partitions you have, then create a Bootdisk (http://www.bootdisk.com) have be sure to have format.exe on it.
Boot up to the floppy disk and type format c:
