Try Steinberg WaveLab or SonicFoundry Soundforge you can get demos here: http://www.steinberg.net/products/ps/wavelab/wavelab3/index.phtml?sid=02378537

A 85min mp3 will fit in any cd with any bitrate. But, for editing it SoundForge is pretty good, you just need to convert it to wav first. There were some direct mp3 editing tools but can't remember where, just to let you know there are =)

You may want to look at MP3Trim, allows you to edit, normalize volume levels, etc. while in MP3 format....and it's free.

I didnt realize it had a file size limit, I have been running all my MP3's thru it to normalize levels and trim off any junk at the front or back of the song.....havent had it refuse a song yet cuz of size.

Also try CoolEditPro as it has many applicable functions. It has to be converted to .wav first, though.
