Check it out here. http://www.giga-byte.com/products/8pe667ultra.htm sm8000 03-06-2003, 10:52 PM It does look like a nice board! Have you found any reviews on it? XxFaeryOnFirexX 03-09-2003, 09:24 PM There are some, though alot of them I cannot read as they are in a Asian or European Language and I don't understand it much. I have seen some, but I was wondering if anyone else had this board as I have it and wondered... j2me_tech 03-10-2003, 09:13 AM DONT GET 8PE667!!get the latest board from gigabyte, 8PE667 ULTRA 2. have alots of new features, dual Serial-ATA, onboard PROMISE raid controller, onboard intel pro 100/100 kenai network card, onboard realtek sound card, pci & agp clock can be lock, fsb can be pump until 355fsb!!&...........................the cd included with the package is also very useful. get it!!CRUSADER NO REGRET!! XxFaeryOnFirexX 03-10-2003, 04:38 PM Obviously you didn't hear what I wrote. I have the Ultra. THE ULTRA. The only difference between the Ultra and the Ultra 2 is that the Ultra 2 has Integrate GigaBit Ethernet and Serial ATA. It is not like I will be using any of those yet as I do not have anything GigaBit in my house or at school so I won't see an improvement there and I like my Trusty ATA133 Maxtor. I don't want an expensive new technology that I cannot even use yet w/o an adapter. There is no performance jump in using an adapter to turn a regular IDE ATA133 drive into SATA-150. There will be no performance gains. Plus I don't want to pay additional money for something I will not need. It would be great if they ADDED FIREWIRE. Instead they added SD, MMC, and Memory Stick Pins onto the board. The Ultra is the way to go for the USB fans too. It has 4 MB headers for USB 2.0 and 2 USB 2.0 on the back. I love my Ultra. I love that I have Optical out through the Included SPDIF kit. I love that I can get a large FSB. But really. If you all want to go updated and all, ready for the 800MHz FSB P4's that are coming out, get the newest board from Gigabyte. They are backwards compatable with the 533MHz FSB and have alot of options too, just like the Ultra. They also sport the newest chipset from Intel that Supports 8x AGP and DDR400. mr-meth 04-27-2003, 01:53 PM I totally agree with XxFaeryOnFirexX ... i have the same board and its really good but i buy the OEM version and i wondering if anyone know where i can find the accessories for the board ... i am interesting more in the back panel case shield. thanks causticVapor 04-27-2003, 03:11 PM Why not get one of the 800MHz FSB capable boards like the Abit BH7 or Epox 4PEA800? That will save you having to do a motherboard upgrade if in the future you obtain an 800MHz FSB processor. Better: Save up for a real 800MHz board based on the Springdale (865) chipset. It is capable of dual-channel memory operation, greatly increasing the amount of bandwidth to that vastly bandwidth-hungry P4. XxFaeryOnFirexX 04-27-2003, 08:06 PM you can get some of the MoBo accesories at CompUSA and BestBuy (only some carry them) You can probably find them at new egg. I already have the board and it is great. Yes, I could get a 800MHz FSB however... why!? I have no need for it at this point and my computer is 4 months old. I don't think so. Maybe in 2 years when even better processors come out instead of revamped Socket 478. mr-meth 04-27-2003, 09:00 PM thanks XxFaeryOnFirexX mr-meth 05-12-2003, 11:33 PM XxFaeryOnFirexX... did u have a good working driver for the ATA/RAID controller ?? I have some problems with the controller on winXP Pro SP1 included. XxFaeryOnFirexX 05-14-2003, 07:44 PM you can get that driver off of www.giga-byte.com I didn't use the ATA-133 for my single HDD. It makes my mouse all choppy and technically, you should install XP on the drive by using the raid controller drivers off of the site. you need to d/l them and make a floppy. they should tell you how unless they are meanies.
