IMPORT would probably mean that the game is "imported" from say Europe to USA. Why? Dont ask me.... :p

Gaming companies do make serval varation of their game due to lanuanges. So you probally have diffrent lanuange on your imported cd.

I have a Japanese verison of starcraft. Does't say imported but does have diffrent lanuange.

It doesnt mean that you would defenetly have a different language version (although u might) but it is also possible that u will get a UK version of the game which IS in English. (Only God and they know why make US and UK verion of the same game, in some cases they even call the game differently like Blade of Darkness in US is called Blade of Darkness but in UK Severence: Blade of Darkness)

...just so I dont need a translator to play C&C Generals!

It may mean that you will need to download a different patch install file if you patch the game, be careful of that :)

i agree with Xenon

is very stupid to have 2 ENGLISH version

like yeah USA english and UK english are slightly different in colours :)

but there's no point on making a game in 2 Ginglish vs Unglish :p

could be copyrights, technolgy differences etc. Like how 128bit encryptedIE was only avail in US. Could be other things like that that are not allowed outside the US. Patents, User Agreements, etc.

I just received my "import" copy of C&C Generals....in this case IMPORT designation refered to manufacture in UK, ship to US.
