Hi:

A naïve question for you experience folks.

Is my 2 year old desktop with the following specs, PC Chips mother board 810 LMR, 1.1 G AMD Athlon, 256 MB PC 133 SDRAM

Good enough for running Windows XP?

(I’ve been running window 98SE and would like to upgrade to XP, I have someone built this system for me, so I am asking this question)

Thanks a lot

Definitely good enough, no problem there. Give it the latest BIOS, enable ACPI before installing XP, and then do it.

I have had XP running on a Pentium 166 with 60MB RAM.

Your joking?, SterlingAug, what do you use it for? I thought 128mb was pretty poor for Xp never mind 60,LOL.:D

I do not use it, it was purely an experiment to see if and how well it worked. It was actually fairly responsive. Definetly worth using as an email and surfing machine for a newbie. Not bad for a $150 laptop computer.
