Hello,I have a rather old mobo,the maximum I can run is pentium 2 500mgz
(have Celeron 300A now).
My friend has a pentium 2/(3?) 550 Mgz for me.
My question is: can I use that p 2/(3?) 550?
If so,will that give problems to other hardware/software?
Thanks in advance.

Evaeline.

A 550 SHOULD work and since the multiplier is locked it SHOULD work at 550 but if it's a 550e that could be a problem because of it's lower voltage requirments.

As long as it has a 100mhz bus and not the 66mhz bus then it should work w/o a problem.
