Is it possible to set up permissions in Windows XP Home to allow only certain computers on my home network access to certain folders? Or is this something only XP Pro is capable of? If it is possible, how would I go about doing this?

By defualt, no one on another pc can see/use another folder "untill" you share the folder. Right click on the folder and share away.

do remember that share permissions are only applied over the network. if a person logs on to the system locally, they could have access to the folder.

I already knew how to share directories, but I want to limit who has access to certain directories.

For example, I have three computers on my network, A, B, C. I have a directory on A that only B can have access to and a directory on A that only C can have access to. There are also directories on A that both B and C have access to. How do I limit the access to directories to only one of the computers?

I don't have an xp home system in front of me, but i do have xp pro.

you can only limit share access by user, not computer. you should remove the everyone group from sharing the folder and only add the specific users you want to have access to the folder.
