Wow! Nice work!
Did you use plans, or make it up as you go?
(I'm assuming you built it, not bought it, right?)
Very clean looking setup.. looks like it has smooth airflow!
PS: Did you have/still have problems with static since you are using acrylic sheet?

Now that is a NICE little setup. makes the clearcase im building look like **** http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Im curious too about the static. Im about done with mine, but im hesitent to put my system in it because im scared of the static http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Is there anything special you did to yours to decrease this problem? Im thinking of grounding all of my parts to the PS hoping that will help out... Any advice you can give to a fellow clearcase builder is appreciated http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Nope no static or EMI problems, ive been using the acrylic case for about 8 months now, its on a desktop next to a monitor and speakers, no probs and EXTRA cool!!! (no metal to absorb heat)

Maybe its just the acrylic i used for my case but i can tell there is static because dirt and dust will just latch on to the plexiglass. It may not be enough to hurt anything. Either way i think im gonna put an old system in it for a test run. I'd hate to lose my good system to static. But i appreciate the help. It atleast makes me feel a little better about my case http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Wish i had thought about not using metal though, but i bought acrylic that was too thin so i needed the added support... Thanks again.

Good job. Congrats! I see you have a fan mounted over your NorthBridge chip? Any close up photo you can provide? Thx.

How much did that case cost you to make? Just the plexiglass, excluding the actual hardware. Was it easy? I think that it looks really cool and would like to build one.

I purchased the case from Clear-View tech--- http://www.clear-viewtech.com some time ago, he has the same case now with 4 front bays and a better 92mm fan layout---1 front, 1 top, 1 side, and 1 back, good high quality stuff although alittle expensive---my components do run cooler due to the lack of a metal enclosure, I really like mine...(that pic has the side panel removed to reduce reflections that screw up the image)

Oh hey Brangwen, on the KT7A or its other inceptions, the northbridge fan is a standard item...

Yeah it is a GREAT case, I bought mine at a computershow $250 and they gave me deal on an approved 400w p/s ($40), high quality, tool-less and cool running, kind of large in depth would be fantastic for a water/pelt system due to the extra size, loaded with fan/drivespace its the first case I havnt had to wack holes in, looks unique in my house as its mounted on the wall behind my recliner, should be cheap to ship weighs about as much as a case of potatochips heres a link--- http://www.directron.com/pc70.html
OOOOPS---its called a Lian-Li PC70 and they make smaller versions of it with differing appearances...

Actually the top 2 devices in the Aluminum case are removable racks that hold a hdd or other such device (zip, tapedrve etc) the fronts are removable for access if it isnt a hdd, they are cheap to buy ata100 compliant and have a front and rear fan 11$, I have 2 ata100 20G deskstars in the top 2 racks, 3rd device is an Aopen 16Xpro slot load dvd, quiet, fast, speed sustainable, 90$ and works well with my Radeon allinwonder, 4th device is an Iomega branded (Plextor guts w/burnproof) 12/10/32 CDRW that I scored a couple of for 99$ apiece, next is a DigitalDoc4 that controls (turns em on according to temp preset) 6 80mm Sunon Silencer fans and also monitors hdd, videocard, case and cpu temps, on the bottom is a FrontX relocator that brings mic/speaker/gameport/usb/ connects to the front of the machine...came out pretty good I think, its mounted on the wall in my livingroom, id like to think it almost looks like a work of art...
