I have an ECS K7S5A mobo with AMD XP1500+; 512k of DDR266 RAM; OS Win 98SE. BIOS reads the CPU at 1000mhz and set speed at 100/100. If i change to 133/133 the CPU reads correctly but system freezes if is boots at all. BIOS is AMI dated 09/20/2001. Reading here I need a BIOS update, can't find a version on boardjust says "K75SA". I have had the mobo a year and have so probably have the crappy first edtion.
What BIOS version should I update to??

Thanks

Besides, what you probably ACTUALLY need are a strong enough power supply and a RAM test. www.memtest86.com

Thanks. I ran the mem test all 11 no errors. The power supply is rated for the board and chip. Will download BIOS update. Thanks again for both replies.
