hey I'm kinda looking for browers for the internet. I dumped AOL a few weeks ago and went Cable. WHOW!!the speed is great. But I don't really care for the browers. was wondering if anyone knew of one I could set up myself. and Maybe some good search engines also... :t

Here's browsers for you: http://download.com.com/2001-2137-0.html?tag=dir

As far as search engines, Google (http://www.google.com) comes to mind.

3 choices for each.
Browsers 1.Opera 2.Opera 3.Opera
Search engines 1.Google 2.Google 3.Google

I only listed 3 for each so the decision should be easy ;)

www.mozilla.org

Mozilla 1.31 or Phoenix 0.5 are the 2 best ones from the same people

both of thems are 100% true free

it BLOCKS ADDs and pop up by default

also has Anti SPAM for the email

and they are SUPERBLY FAST

and works with Java

and they are widely popular and supported

Yeah spot on - It has to be Mozilla - Opera would be good if it had java but there are some very small footprint browsers like Enigma that are quite cute.

Neoplanet was interesting but the intrusive ads soon took over and the whole thing became very slow.

Case of try them all and take your pick really.
Shame Netscape became so slow and bloated - It used to be a fantastic browser (in the good ole days).

Mozilla, or Galeon if you're using Linux.

But Mozilla rocks for Windows. For some dumb reason IE doesn't support tabbed browsing, which makes it almost useless.
