I don't want to sound to cheep but does anyone have any recomodations for free anivirus and were to find it. The last two years I'v been using McAfee on line and don't think i'm getting my monys worth.

I agree with NDC. also on a sidenote, watch out for that darn email from hahaha@sexyfun.net, I got it again today...been like 2 dozen times now. I have removed it from so many computers its not even funny.

I haven't used it, but I've heard it's good.

I use Norton- $19.95 (when it's on sale) and worth it.

no doubt, innoculateIT seems to be the choice for most here at this forum.
i stand by it.
ive also gotten that haha@sexyfun.net too, golfcart.
id love to strangle the putz who sends that as well.

Just installed innoculateIT, right after the haha e-mail arrived AGAIN. Detected it right away. I'm new here,as well as to computers, I read this post today (after a search brought me to it.) Thanks guys, ya saved me some trouble. Or really saved golfcart some time. LOL

Trend Micro is a great choice as well. They update their virus patterns and engines all the time. It is not free though they have a tool called HouseCall which scans your drives over the net for free. http://www.trend.com

Nothing, and I mean nothing has gotten by it yet! (Must remember to up-date definitions, must remember to up-date definitions, etc...) PC-cillin will also stop and block some tricks that are called "malicious pranks", such as "buttons".

HouseCall will get you started, then try out or buy PC-cillin with Chip-Away to guard your boot sector.
