:t I'm new to this board and I am looking to build a system that will be dedicated to Video and Audio editing and I am looking at building a dual processor system but I don't want to go with an Intel because of the price.
I want to use the system to digitize videos, burn DVD's, and work with very large video and audio files.
I've heard a lot of good things about the GA-7VAXP Ultra
VIAŽ KT400 chipset but its only a single processor board.
I will take any suggestions and help on making a decision on motherboard, processor, case, memory.
Thanks alot and I wouldn't want to break my bank.

It ain't cheap. You'll need 2 Athlon MP processors and a board like this:

What do you think about this one
Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW-P ATX, AMD 760MPX Socket A Dual Processor, 200/266 MHz FSB
I would like something that already has a audio and newotrk card built into it and I'm not sure if this one has it

I am using a Asus A7M266D. its an amd dual cpu mobo.
I am very impressed with its performace.
If you can get a raid controller preferably a 64 bit SCSI card if you can afford one. you will be able to setup a faster raid.
I have a Medley ATA 133 card with two Maxtor 80 gig 7200 rpm 2mb cache drives setup in Raid 0 (Striped).
I am also using Dual Athlon MP 2000++ overclocked to 1750 mhz each from the initial 1666 mhz.
Its rock solid stable and affordable, 215$ with lan and usb 2.0.
you can save by getting two Athlon Tbred XPs and unlocking the L5 bridge for smp. and you can overclock them to very high levels like 2000 actual mhz for an 1800++ XP.
Just my .001cent
EDIT: To add on to this, this board has 6 channel audio and lan built in including the above stated facts. it also supports 200/266 mhz fsb. But u can overclock fsb upto 155 x2.

So far i am extremely grateful for your help.
I've gotten this far I just need to find some memory and I'm set.
Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW+ Dual Athlon MP/AMD 762/768B2/DDR/A&L/RAID/ATA133/ATX Motherboard $234
AMD Athlon MP 2200+ 1.8GHz Quantispeed Architechture Throughbred 3D CPU - Retail with Heatsink and Fan $185 + 185 = 370
AthlonXP 2500+ 333FSB 512K Barton Retail Box $185 + 185 = 370
So you are saying that i can use xp processors on a mp motherboard or not??
ATI All-In-Wonder RADEON 9700 PRO - 128MB DDR, 8X AGP, DUAL HEAD, DVI & TV-OUT, TV-TUNER $377.00
What type of memory should i get and what power supply should i get for it.
Thanks alot

So you are saying that i can use xp processors on a mp motherboard or not?? Um - the Barton requires a 166MHz FSB. No go.
I would get Crucial ECC RAM:

You're going to need a 400-450W PSU at least. Antec PSUs actually put out what they're rated for. Don't waste your time with anything else other than Enermax, Fortron and Sparkle.
Giblet Plus!

I'd get the MSI board, and at least a 400W Sparkle/Fortron or Antec.
You can use any 266fsb AmdXP processor on those boards if you cross the L5 bridge. :)
