Hello Forum,

I recently bought a notebook with built-in bluetooth support. I need to know whether going out and buying a bluetooth supported cell phone for my laptop is practical. Is this technology still extremely expensive? What can I expect in terms of service prices? I saw a Sony Ericson for under 30 dollars today at Best Buy, after rebates and instant savings. I would love to be able to access the internet anytime anywhere, through my laptop, but if its an excruciating expense, I'll likely just forget about it until the technology becomes more mainstream and inexpensive.

AT&T webacces costs $0.04 per Kb downloaded. Can you image how expensive surfing all day thru the cell phone would be? Or paying $150 to download a 4MB MP3. NOT for me.

Bluetooth isnt really for what you are looking for - its more practical for consultants , mobile tech support who need to quickly check their email , support sites or for connectivity with local devices - Mobile phone use for internet access will never be cheap enough.
