I suspect you will need to rewrite DOS. Good Luck! :)

You still haven't told us which Windows version you have. You can disable ALT-CTRL-DEL in WinXP Pro.

How about a program that switches buttons around? Like make the del button be f12 or something.

I would just wire the three buttons that that when they are pressed simultaneously, the user would receive a low-amperage, high-voltage shock.

I just found this link on Google http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308226
It says you can do it with XP pro and XP home edition. I was always under the impression it was a bios function triggered by DOS but according to this link it is controlled by Windows in XP. There may be hope yet.

Is it just me or does that article have nothing to do with his problem? I've tried numerous times to get rid of control + alt + delete access with different programming languages but they don't seem to have control over XP (yeah i know, XP is totally different than 98 etc...)
That link is for computer users having to press control + alt + delete at the start of a session so the computer knows it's not a written code trying to get in (i.e. servers etc.)
Good luck on your quest but I agree with Bill in that there isn't a way (or it isn't easy)

Quoted from link
"On MS-DOS-based computers (and some older UNIX-based systems), pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE gains the attention of the BIOS, causing a "warm" reboot. You can use the keyboard to shut down the operating system. On Windows-based computers (starting with Microsoft Windows NT), the CTRL+ALT+DELETE sequence is intercepted by Windows. The advantage of the keystroke-intercept technique is to help prevent Windows from being shut down by someone who does not have access to do so. "
Sounds to me like it will work. I don't use XP so I can't be sure.

Using ALT-CTRL-DEL in NT just evokes the logoff/Task Manager dialog (Security dialog). You cannot stop or restart it directly, although a shutdown button is presented if the admin hasn't disabled it.

I dunno about you guys, but if he really wanted to protect his computer from unauthorised access, wouldn't taking away the entire darned keyboard with him when he's not around be easier?
Just a suggestion... :r

...and what about the keyboard that's connected to the PC next to it?

Isn't there a remap utility on the keyboard?
Maybe this will help

you can disable ctrl alt delete in windows 98 with VB. heres the coding if it helps
Private Const SPI_SCREENSAVERRUNNING = 97&
Private Declare Function SystemParametersInfo Lib "User32" _
lngRet = SystemParametersInfo(SPI_SCREENSAVERRUNNING, True, blnOld, 0&)
if u want to re enable it change the true to false.

i'd suggest an old AT PC with an old PC box that has the Key switch, that really needs a key to turn on and off the keyboard :D

It can be done, though it envolves some programming: http://www.vb-helper.com/HowTo/ctlaltd.zip
Also, try this (at your own risk, I haven't tested it since I don't have XP): go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrentVersion\WinLogon and insert a new key called AutoWinLogon with "2" as it's content .

C-A-Del is a key combination only accessable to the Windows kernel. You cannot access or disable it.
Try locking your computer whenever you are not using it.

Now, now! With any decent operating system there is ways around this delema.
To Enable or Disable the CTRL+ALT+DELETE Sequence
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts.
Click the Advanced tab.
In the Secure logon section, select or clear the Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete check box.
What advanced tab?
