The firm that I work for purchased a Compaq server that has four CPU's.
When I look at task manager it shows 8 CPUs'. Anyone know why this occours.

those are Intel P4 cpus

and they were using HT

so HT counts as a CPU itself

yeah. sounds like you got 4 HT Xeons. Next time, it would be nice to know what kind of cpus you have. Just saying cpus doesn't help much.
