I need the whole systen to be cool(temperature) and not too noisey. I am planning to get a normal case and add a few fans here and there.. (like one in the front, one in the back +psfan and another one on the top to push the hot air out.)

I know about the quite cases and stuff... but the thing is... i want to keep my costs at THE minimum..... so please help me by telling me where i can find CHEEEEEAP, but good quality, silent(not noisey is enough) fans with reasonable or free shipping

Thanks a lot people..... u guys mean a lot

Sunon makes a line of fans called "Silencer", you can also reduce the power to a louder fan you already have to quiet it down...

I recommend Panaflos. The 80mm L1s I bought put out 24 CFM at 21 dBa. Keep your fingers out though http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif.

Delta is probably famous for its Black Label 7000RPM screamers, but they also make quieter fans. I replaced the fan on my tai-sol heatsink with a Delta QuieTec and it's much quieter. I bought it at Jameco.

Fan mouting also makes a huge difference. Putting small plastic or rubber washers between the fan and whatever it's attached it to makes a big difference for me. It helps to absorb the fan vibrations. Also try to cut out the restrictive metal screens in front of or behind the fans since they can contribute to noise. You can replace them with chrome wire guards if you think you still need a grille to keep objects away from the fan blades.

I don't know how quiet you need, but you may be interested in a review/article here (http://http://hardocp.com/reviews/cooling/koolance/) about a nifty case that has a water cooling system that cools socketed cpu's, the power sully, hdd and video card! Water cooling is efficient and almost silent! This one sounds good to me because it's well made and the coolant is self contained so you don't have to top up the reservoir, etc. Also, I don't know how much you want to spend so maybe this is a crazy alternative to some quiet fans but if you want a really quiet pc and you have the cash.... well I'd be jealous anyway!!

Oh... and here (http://www.hardocp.com/articles/quiet/) is another article about quiet case modification done cheaply if the above is way too expensive.

If you really want quiet you'll need a fan with a dba rating in the lower 20's. You'll find anything around 30 to be noisy.

I use two radio shack 120V 4" fans, one blowing in, one out. You cant even hear them run in a quiet room. The CPU stays at room temperature now also.
