I was wondering if someone could tell me the psu requirement for a system based on a Pentium 4 2.4 ghz processor (533 fsb). The mobo will be microATX form factor - onboard graphics and onboard audio will be used, there will be one harddrive (don't know the exact specs on that, though - but it's about 3 yrs old), one cd rom, and 512mb pc2700 memory. Wattage requirements as well as details of any recommended requirements on specific voltage rails would be appreciated.

ps - I already know the psu will have to have a 4 pin connector :D

Thanks! :)

edit: forgot to add - there will be no overclocking.

Hi,
I'm using an Antec 350W psu on my 2.8 with no problems. I used the same supply on my 2.4(533FSB) before I got the 2.8. I have an 80Gig hdd, 1 gig of PC2100, and a Radeon8500. I'm using the built in audio/ethernet. I havent had any problems running with this setup. The specs on the supply are:

DC OUT 5V 12V 3.3V -5V -12V +5V SB

Max I 35A 16A 28A .5A .8A 2A
Min A 1.5A .8A .5A 0A 0A 0A

I'm thinking you should be okay with a 300W or 350W psu. I know that some of the uATX and small form factor systems use anywhere from 150W to 230W PSU's, but I wouldn't risk going that low unless you bought the system from a manufacturer and they put that low of a PSU in it.

Id get a 350watt just incase upgradeing the video or adding another HDD/Cdrom in the future. Or if ya eventually get a bigger cpu. THe higher mhz p4's are drawing some power. Antec's a good strong psu.:)

Thanks guys, that pretty much answers my question. :) The people I'm trying to help out here wanted to replace some components inside their existing case, which is a microATX, with a microATX sized PSU. I can only find microATX psu's up to 200 watts, so I will tell them that a new case/psu is in order. Thanks again! ;)
